Adobe house renovation – Base of mass stove

Since the floor of the living room will be picked up, I found it better to replace the concrete under the stove with a thicker one.

A mass stove, as its name implies, has a large mass, so it needs a massive base.

First, it was trimmed slightly larger than the size of the stove

It didn't give up easily, but the chisel machine and the 5-pound hammer were stronger :)

The old concrete was picked up. It wasn't too thick. 4-7cm! That's why it was picked up.

That nice curved concrete is my job :). I don't pick it up because I'm not such a masochist.

The thing is, what I do once is better not to disassemble it because it is made of material.

1: 3 concrete (1 part cement, 3 parts gravel) ... Need I say more? :)

The pit is forming

but there was a little protrusion poured into that wall. Now I scolded myself properly!

I had to dice it with an angle grinder and a diamond disc to cut it off ... It worked in 2 hours.

Have I ever said that what I do once is better not to have to go around later?

Finished concrete:

Here's a later picture where the wall has been further broken down towards the chamber, but this is a later story :).

The stove concrete is "not visible" from the dirt under the shovel :)
