After leaving Oregon we pointed our Subaru Outback east for our second presentation at Cascade Outfitters in Boise Idaho It was Cascade Outfitters first time hosting a Get Out More event and we had over 30 people in the audience Nearly everyone who attended went home with one of our gear giveaway prizes (which I’m sure will help draw bigger crowds next year) After Boise it was time to head south to Utah for presentation #3 in Murray Utah Before our presentation we had time to visit with Goal Zero at their home offices Not only did we get a history of their company (they were started to help people in the Democratic Republic of Congo get affordable electricity to their villages) we also got the grand tour of their offices – which have a rock climbing wall and a slide And if you are wondering yes both Kim and I climbed the wall which dropped us into the Marketing department After a great afternoon with Goal Zero in which we met nearly everyone on staff it was time to get to our event: our first Eddie Bauer store We set up our displays and waited for the crowd to arrive for our 6:00 start We got a little nervous when at 5:58 there was a total of one person in attendance Kim and I whispered to each other “the only thing more awkward than giving a presentation to 1000 people would be giving it to one person” Luckily a few minutes after 6 a bunch of people showed up – 41 in total I guess Utes take being “fash (http://www.c32s.fr/product.asp?name=z5c6z1-ash)ionably late” pretty seriously The Eddie Bauer presentation went well and the Eddie Bauer staff were super nice and helpful with the set-up and break-down of our displays – thanks again Eddie Bauer everyone!
