Back to the jacket.the material and construction is of high quality It is very light weight but also very warm I have worn this jacket in 30 degree weather wind rain and snow and I can say that I stayed warm and dry through all of it It says water resistant not water proof but I have not had any wetness soak through this jacket so it seems pretty water proof It also drys super fast My daughters Columbia down jacket is waterproof but when I wash it it takes forever to dry However this poly fill jacket dries almost instantly I like the length because it keeps my legs and body warm I do occasionally have trouble with the zipper but I think that is because I'm short (5'2) and when I bend down to zip it I crumple it quite a bit which makes it harder to align the teeth on the zipper I use the Velcro closure most of time and it works really well The fur trim is a bit heavier than I expected but it is soft and pretty and does a great job at keeping snow and rain out of my face Also it seems the weight of it helps keep my hood from blowing off
I ordered the plum color which is a gorgeous shade of purple I was hesitant to order a color instead of my usual black grey or white but I am glad I went for it because the vibrant color is a nice break in the grayness of living in this region
I really like the cuffs on the sleeves and the soft material inside the pockets two features which I considered important for warmth but were surprisingly difficult to find
Regarding sizing.I think it fits true to size I usually wear a Small (I'm a size 4) but I purchased a medium so that I would have room to comfortably layer underneath which is exactly what I got It is not overly large though when I wear only one layer underneath it still fits perfectly well it is not too loose and is still very warm
All of the pockets are great The hand pockets are soft and warm and roomy enough to put my very large phone keys or wallet inside and zipped to keep dry The inside pocket is large enough for a hat and my phone as well and also zips
So - I have been wearing this coat for about 3 weeks now and thus far I love it I think it is a fantastic value and I would definitely recommend it to a friend January 28 2016Rated 5 out of 5
