Project meeting in Italy

Project meeting in Italy
In the April of 2012 another Italian project meeting took place, in which eleven Greek and four Hungarian participants were present. The leader of the La Meridiana studio presented another technique used by them, which is called: decoration of a surface with glasslike earthen pulp. The essence of the method is that wet pieces of paper are placed on the surface of the finished artwork and the remaining surfaces are painted by earthen pulp of different colours. After drying, the dried paper falls down and the painted parts will shine in the wished hues. As far as cultural programs are concerned, the hosts organised sightseeing in Siena and Florence and also a trip to a location less known to tourists, but more important from the point of view of ceramists, the Taroc garden. The sight depicting the figures of the taroc cards are situated on a hillside near Garavicchio, which lies between Florence and Rome. The huge reinforced concrete statues are covered with ceramic and mosaics. At the project meeting we discussed the details of the printed brochure. The Greek partner gave us the instructions on the basis of which we will be able to prepare those mosaic and ceramic elements, which they will insert into a bigger work of art.
