As technology changed with the times, so did fashion, shaping the shoes we see today.
Among the highlights are 1860s-era spiked running shoes, a 1936 track shoe and the history behind the rise of Chuck Taylor and Air Jordans to revolutionize sportswear for the future.
“(There is a) great personal connection with what you see in this exhibition, but there's this larger historical story that I don't think we think about is so common to us today,” Erbes said.
Setting the mood and matching the flair of the shoes, local muralist Braylyn Stewart applied his talent and expertise on the exhibit.
“Color schemes and textures are free-flowing artwork which is coordinated with shoes that are displayed around them,” Stewart said.
Stewart's love for sneakers is apparent all over the walls of the exhibit,cheap real jordans, playing on his own childhood connection.
