Brown defends salaries


Steve Brown, the RFU chief executive, has defended the ?1.6?million spent on the remuneration package for its board of directors last year, including a ?710,000 package to former chief executive Ian Ritchie.


The annual report reveals that Sophie Goldschmidt, the former chief commercial and marketing officer, was paid ?480,000 in 2015/16 – despite taking up a new post in March last year.
