iTunes lets you store as much data as you want for free, and it's only for iPhones. The biggest downside, you have to do it all manually:

Open iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer.
A message will pop up, asking if you want to Trust This Computer, tap "trust" or "allow."
Select your iPhone when it appears in the sidebar of iTunes. If your device doesn't appear in iTunes, here's what to do.
Click Back Up Now.

Option 1: Use your Google Account

The great part about Android phones is that they do most of the backing up for you. But, this completely relies on you signing into your Google account on your Android phone.

You probably already did this when you first turned on your phone. If you didn't, or don't want to sign into your account, refer to option 2 below this section.

Through this account, Google automatically backs up most of your data -- including the details of your Android settings, display preferences, wifi networks, passwords, etc. Your account also uses Google Photos to back up photos and videos.

If you ever want to confirm that Google is backing up your phone, double-check all these things:

Go to Settings.
Tap the search engine bar at the top and search for "Back up" (two words).
Choose the first option that shows up -- it varies depending on what type of Android phone you have.
If your phone shows "Back up to Google Drive" at the top of the screen, make sure it's toggled on, OR
If your phone shows "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore," make sure both are toggled on.
And in case you forgot which email you used, below that toggle is the Google account associated with your system backups. To change this account, press on the line showing your current Google account, and choose from a list of accounts connected to your phone.

It’s always advisable to make a back-up of your music library – that is, a copy of all the files, which are then kept separately from your computer.

Backing up is easy and can ensure that your music is secure in case of disaster. Even if all your music originated from your own CDs, a back-up will save you hours of work reinstalling them all.

This guide will describe three ways of backing up your library.

To back up your iTunes library using Apple’s iTunes Match

Apple’s iTunes Match is a useful option if you don’t want to buy an expensive hard drive and want to be able to access your music library on a variety of different Apple devices. It has an annual cost of £21.99.

You’ll need:

a computer with access to the internet, ideally through a broadband connection
an iTunes account
iTunes installed on your computer.
Step 1: Open iTunes by double-clicking on the iTunes icon on your desktop. Alternatively, click Start, hover over ‘All Programs’, find iTunes on the list and then click it.

Step 2: Click iTunes Match, which is listed under Store in the left-hand menu.



Step 3: You will now be taken to a screen that explains how iTunes Match works. Essentially Apple scans your entire music library, not just songs you have bought from iTunes, and matches it to songs it has already indexed on the service.

Any songs you own that Apple hasn’t scanned from other users’ libraries will be uploaded to iCloud – Apple’s cloud storage service that allows you to synchronise your information across all of your devices. How long this takes depends on how many unique songs you have in your library.

As an added bonus, any songs below 256 Kbps will be upgraded to the higher quality free of charge.

Step 4: You will now be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password. Once entered, Apple will scan your music library. How long this takes depends on the size of your collection. Once completed, you will be able to listen to you entire music catalogue on any Apple device that is set-up with your Apple ID.
