The definition of waist training is that you are gradually the reducing the size of your waist by the use of a trainer or cinching corset. This type of practice has been in use since the days of the Victorians but it has made a resurgence recently. This is likely down to the number of celebrities who have been seen wearing them.

It can often help to break in your cincher so that is adjusts to your body and becomes more comfortable as time goes on. The best body cincher for you will be one that is the perfect size. But in order to make sure that you get a well sized corset, you need to measure your waist to select the right size. Plus-size ladies can get one that is smaller by a few inches (7-10) as the body starts distributing weight as the waistline gets smaller.

You will also require a corset that is strong. It needs to be able to stand up to tension and stress of training without falling apart or buckling. A stronger corset may cost a little more but of course this is a wiser decision as it will last longer.

There are quite a few different ways in which you can wear your corset and it will often depend on your own preference or maybe what kind of effect you are trying to achieve with your training. Some people wear their corset for eight hours a day whilst they are at work. Others prefer to wear them at night when they go to bed. Some other people wear their corsets constantly for between 12 and 16 hours per day and there are a few who will wear theirs for 23 hours a day.

As a beginner, it is strongly advised that you do not overtrain your waist as this can cause damage to your body. You should start slowly by only wearing your waist trainer for around 2 to 4 hours per day and then you can increase gradually from there. If you wish to become a heavy user of your corset, then you will eventually get the point where you can wear it all day without noticing it. But again we strongly recommend that you do not overtrain, especially during the first few weeks.
