Finding out what type of fare you have is the first step to changing a flight in Alaska. You're out of luck if it's the lowest fare because you can't change the lowest fare. Within 24 hours of making your reservation, you can cancel the lower rate and get a full refund.

Remember that if you have a First Class or Business Class ticket, changes can be made at no additional cost. You will only be responsible for paying the difference in fares. To get started, log in to your account and search the "Upcoming Trips" section for the flight you want to change. After choosing "Edit Reservation", follow these steps:

Select the passenger(s) for which you want to make changes first.
Then choose "Edit this trip" from the drop-down menu.
Select the Change flight tab under the 'Departing flights' heading.
Then select the desired cuisine from the drop-down menu:
first class or lowest principal
principal or first class refunds
Mileage
75K MVP Gold, MVP
MVP Gold and MVP Guest
Click the "Continue" button after reaching the bottom of the page.
Make an alternate flight selection. A credit or fare difference will be displayed on the right.
Finally, complete your edit by checking (s).
