If that price is for 2 people, I guess it's pretty good. More than I'd pay, but maybe only by 20% or so. Way too much if it's per person. Unless you are booking the big players like Simba or PST, most people book when they get there at a street agent. You haggle over price.

August weather is the weather you get in August. I know that sounds glib, but truly, Phuket weather in low season is a bit of a lottery. This year we went in February (high season), and we've had better weather in July. August is not meant to be the best for beach weather, but I've read posts on TA from people who go in August every year and say the weather has been great. Just be wary of water conditions, especially if you haven't grown up with rips.

I have to say it sounds very cheap. I usually wait until I get there to make bookings for tours etc., although some boat trips I book well in advance. I also book a driver for the day in advance. It is always going to be cheaper than flight centre August is usually a quiet time so you should have no problem booking things when you arrive. You can usually go to the beach anytime as it will be warm but seas could be rough.

Street agents are everywhere and if you wait until you arrive you can be flexible with your itinerary especially as you won't know what the weather will be like and the sea conditions in August.

This 'deal' will be very much in the favour of the supplier and not for you! I would book it all myself individual packages. You will not be getting the best experiences for your money I would expect.

With tours, particularly boat tours, it matters a great deal who you book with. If you are booking through an agent, remember they are not the ones running the tour. You really need to check the reputation of the company that actually provides the tour. Again, TA is good for this. Look at 'things to do' above, go to 'activities' and also ask questions here on the forum. Quality and safety, like price, vary greatly.
