I bought this as a housewarming gift for my boyfriend who drinks way too much La Croix. It's quick to set up, easy to use, and so far both the quality of the equipment and the water is great. The sleek design looks really nice sitting out on the kitchen counter - we joke that this is the Porche of sparkling water makers, and really it is. Highly recommend!

At first we were extremely disappointed with this product. It just never got the water very fizzy, even using the highest level of gas. We tried everything - taking it apart, replacing the gas cylinder etc. and nothing helped. At that point I would have given it one star. Even though we were several months on by this point I called the SodaStream customer service number. The adviser was extremely helpful, ran me through a series of tests, and then sent a free replacement. The new machine arrived quickly and works perfectly! Super fizzy water even using the first button. Hence my upgrade to 5 stars. Don't hesitate to contact SodaStream if yours isn't working properly.

1. The instruction manual for setup does not have any text, presumably in an effort to IKEA'ize (i.e. work internationally without translation). There's 1 key step either mislabeled or missed. So our first attempt at using the machine included a lot of water splashing. When you think about it for a minute, it's much easier to set up. They should update the instruction manual.

So far it has been great. We had SodaStream that started spraying liquid all over the place when we used it after only about 1 year. I read a review on the Drinkmate and decided to try it because I wanted to carbonate other liquids besides water. I also did not want to have to flavor the water with artificial flavors. I mostly use the Drinkmate for carbonating fruit juice. My kids love it. I also like the fact that it does a lot better job of carbonating than the SodaStream. It takes about 3 or 4 short presses to get very carbonated liquid. The SodaStream took about 8 or more to get decent carbonation. I don't know how the SodaStream gets such good reviews unless we got a dud.

My family and I gave up sugary soda pop years ago and made the switch to plain carbonated water. We’ve been buying those plastic bottle cases at Costco and wanted to do something more economical and environmentally sound. We initially tried soda stream but did not find that to be a suitable solution. This product has exceeded our expectations. I also happen to be blind and I’ve had to call them repeatedly with questions to guide me through the process which is extremely simple if you can see better than me. I have received nothing but exceptional customer service, love the product and so happy we are no longer buying all of those wasteful plastic bottles. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in a better more affordable option for your carbonated beverages.

I have been drinking seltzer water since I was a teenager and I am past 50 now. This new fad of drinking seltzer has taken off and made me increase my seltzer consumption to at least two liters per day. I love just plain seltzer so that is all I am making with it currently. More water, less plastic in the landfill and this is just a positive thing. The extra bottles are great. I didn't care for the drops of flavor so I gave them to a friend that enjoys them. This has been a positive purchase and it doesn't take up much room on the counter but gets used several times per day.
