While many programs are currently in development to support the Apple M1's ARM, a new malware has been discovered that can now run natively on Macs running the Apple M1.

Mac security researcher Patrick SLOT Wardle has discovered a new malware from the Safari extension, Adware, originally written to run on Intel x86 chips. It was named GoSearch22, which contained Pirrit malware, first discovered in late December.

Pirrit is the oldest malware, but can still be found today. Because they are constantly evolving themselves to avoid detection. It is therefore not unusual to be developed to run on the Apple M1 native-style, with the GoSearch22 extension fooling others that it is a common extension, without causing any problems.

Patrick Wardle said that this was the beginning of ARM development on notebook devices. The virus detectors or antiviruses are not able to detect new types of malware as well as the long-developed x86 chips.
