Liu Qi Jin, policy adviser for the People's Bank of China, said today. China's gross domestic product (GDP) could grow 8-9% this year as the Chinese economy continues to recover from the impact of COVID-19.

Mr. Liu said Such a speedy recovery does SLOT not mean The Chinese economy has returned to a period of high expansion. But it was a rebound from a low base in 2020, where the Chinese economy expanded at 2.3 percent.

HSBC analysts forecast this week that The Chinese economy will grow by 8.5 percent this year, leading to a global economic recovery hit by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Liu said in an online conference that If the 2020 and 2021 average GDP growth is around 5%, that is not a bad outcome.

China is scheduled to release the government work report on March 5, which often includes the target of this year's GDP growth.
