Egy kis "review". :)
Alright, got in to town about 5pm on Saturday. me and my friend Lucas came together, a 6 hour drive from home. We went and found the venue then went to watch a movie to kill some time while we waited for our weekend-roomie to fly in from Washington. The guy we stayed with is Greg, and he offered to let us stay at his hotel for free. Being the poor bastards we are, we took up him on his offer. Really glad we did. He turns out to be a really fucking cool guy, and I'm really glad we got to meet each other. (he's not a member of the forum yet, though he has been an avid visitor of GDA for a few years).

We wake up this morning about 7:30. We're still paranoid about getting in. So many people flew in and whatnot with no guarantee we'd get in. So we by 7:30 i was on the phone with beth and we were working out our war plan. I saw janewt's post on the forum that she'd be going by the venue, so i sent her a message and told her to let me know if there were people. Me, lucas and greg got ready and headed over to denny's where we were gonna meet up with forumers. We got there, sat down and ordered some orange juice and about minutes later we get a message from janewt that there about 10 people there already, and more showing up. So we decided we needed to skip breakfast and just head over there. We got there, and met up with janewt and midlifecrisis. Both really wonderful people. We stood in line together and chatted for a while as we waited for Beth to show. Shortly afterwards Beth (**nobodylikesyou**), Angeline (justcause, who flew in from Ireland for this show), and Cheryl (*withoutadoubt*) showed up. We hugged then just bullshitted with eachother for a while. A guy from the venue comes out and tells us that we'll be getting in for sure. Tons of excitement then.

From that point on we just sat around and talked. All of us coming from different parts of the country (or the world). Shortly afterwards ykelly1 showed up, and joined us. For the next 9 hours we just sat there, trying our best to avoid the sun, as angeline said "as it comes at us with it's tentacles" Most of the morning we were fine, it wasn't till the day was hottest, around 3pm, that the sun decided to spite us and come over the building. But oh well, we had a cooler filled with ice, water, sprite, and propel.

Also around 3pm the first tour bus showed up. Ran behind the venue, up to the fence waiting to see the guys. Just then i get a text from beth saying they just saw the band at the Hyatt hotel. Mary (midlifecrisis) lets beth know that the band is there, and her and cheryl head over. During that time she (midlifecrisis) gets to meet Tre. i'll let beth and cheryl post about their run in with Tre, since obviously they know the details better. But they did get to meet him as he stuck his out of the tour bus (while at the hotel) asking about cheryl's foxboro tshirt.

Back at the venue we're still waiting for anything, and finally the second bus comes around with the guys. They did a good job of leaving little to no space for people to see them as they entered the venue. We caught a glimpse of Billie and Mike as they entered the building. Then back to the line.

Finally at 6:40 they said they're gonna let us in. Give us the instructions for over-21 and under-21 and at 7 we start filing in. We end up right at the front near the stage on the left side. Beth, jane and mary are all at the front and the rest of us right behind them (to protect them from being squashed...). The venue gets packed really fast. As the photos suggested the line was really fucking long. We asked the security guard if they had to turn anyone away, he said he didn't know how many, but he was positive they had to send some away. The line wrapped around the building and through the parking lot, clear to the other side of this huge parking lot.

before the opening band opens, we're already pretty squashed together so i apologized before hand to cheryl and angeline for any unnecessary groping caused by me. I also let greg know i'll probably be grabbing him, but was not apologetic about it.

At 8pm, the opening band "Girls with Guns" starts up. unfortunately they were fucked from the start with some problems, obscenely loud bass, and general mediocre'ness. They weren't bad, but the crowd just wasn't into them much. They finished up and we waited some more.

I don't remember what time it was when Foxboro finally came on. But they drove the crowd insane. Opening up Stop Drop & Roll, and then playing the following 3 songs from that album. Then they introduced "this song is by a band called the network", and played Supermodel Robots. That song is really kick ass live. Followed by Blood Sex & Booze, also fucking amazing live. After that they played another Foxboro song (can't remember which one) then led into a couple verses of "My Generation", very fun! After playing one or two more Foxboro songs the guys went off stage, only to return about a minute later to chants of "One more, one more", and they played Red Tide followed by the remaining songs from stop drop & roll, and ending with the same montage of cover songs (all of which i had no clue what they were, but they were good). perfect showmanship. beth took some gold trimmed glassed in hoping billie would pick them up during a song and he did saying "Look at this fucking great shades" or something like that. You could tell the entire band was having so much fun. Billie jumping into the crowd a few times, Mike going in, Tre in the background playing one maraca while Billie played the other. jason white and jason freese on both ends of the stage jamming the fuck out, (jason freese laughing at janewt as she stuck her hand down billie joe's back pocket.

it was a fucking amazing show.

as for some stage antics. lots of beer spitting/spraying, the rev putting his hands out and resolving us of all our sins "to make room for all the new sins you're going to commit tonight" or something along those lines. mary (midlifecrisis) got to jump on stage, along with my friend lucas, dancing around with the band. mary went up to billie joe and gave him a kiss, you could tell she was determined. through the whole show people kept crowd surfing up to the front onto the stage dancing around the with, giving them all hugs and kisses. billie joe keeping a few of them there to sing, or just talk. this younger kid, still in elementary got to the stage during a song break and he tells billie joe hi and starts going off the stage to where security was guiding him. billie joe gets him back and this is roughly the conversation

billie joe: wait wait, come back. whats your name"
kid replies "chris"
billie joe "oh hey chris, where you from"
chris "from here"
billie joe "cool, what school do you go to?"
chris (says whatever elementary)
billie joe: "do you play baseball?"
chris: "nope"
billie joe: "do you skateboard?"
chris: "nope"
billie joe: "what are your hobbies? whats your favoritest thing in the world to do"
chris "play sports"
billie joe: "oh yeah? what kind of sports?"
chris: "basketball"
billie joe: "oh, i was always too short to play basketball"
chris: "i feel bad for you"
billie joe "you feel bad for me? thanks buddy, i have a hard life" (then he laughs)
billie joe hands him the tambourine
billie joe "now, do mind getting the fuck off my stage"
the kid take the tamborine and hits billie joe on the side of the head with it, and gets off
billie joe: "i don't think i've ever been hit in the head with a tambourine"

billie joe also said offered him a corona, can't remember what he told him exactly though.

and the music starts again. it was really funny, and that kid was awesome. you could tell he was very stoked to be there, and very thrown off guard because billie kept him there just to chat.

At the end of the show the about half the crowd rushes the stage and dances with the band. Everyone's packed up there, you can't even see the band anymore, but they keep playing. The show ends and everyone clears off the stage and security starts going around to clear everyone out. I make it back to the front to find beth and everyone, and kevin (backup guitarist) is still standing there. I get up on the stage (major props to the security guy next to us, he was really fucking cool) and shake Kevin's hand and say "hey man, fucking awesome show dude", he smiles and says thanks. he seems like a really nice guy. As i'm walking off the stage (as security was telling me to) i look over and see green day's tour manager bill schiender and go up to him. "Hey, Andres from Green Day Authority" and he says "Hey man, nice to see you again" (i meet him in 2006 in san francisco when green day was being given some achievement award from the recording academy). i ask him "hey, i'm really hoping to meet the band. will they be out?" he says "yeah dude, stick around. they'll be out soon to get some drinks, we'll find you", shake his hand again, say thanks, and get down. we linger around for about 5 minutes and i see jason white walking over toward the bar. he stops at this bar thingy and i walk up to him and introduce myself. he says "oh hey man, nice to meet you", i say the same thing back and told him it was an amazing show. he said thanks and then people came up and asked him to sign stuff, he signed a couple things then went back backstage. just a couple minutes later jason freese is on the other side of the bar having a drink, and he quickly heads off back. didn't get to tell him hi. i look over and see mike standing in front of the stage. i start walking toward him and a security guard stops me "where you going?", i point to mike and said "i need to go talk to him" and he gives me 2 seconds. Get up to mike, stand there while he talks to some dude and tell him my name and that i run GDA and he says "oh hey, awesome. nice to meet you. you have a really great site", i say thanks and that the show was badass. and he said "thanks, we're having a great time. just doing our thing" he then walks over toward the merch table and talks with the other people there, mostly the forumers. he's just chatting about random shit, like the last time they played in phoenix then people ask him to sign stuff, he looks at everyone and says "oh come on guys, give us a break", but then goes on to sign everyone's stuff. i didn't ask for a signature, felt like i didn't need one. i bought the vinyl at the show, just for the hell of it, and i figured my memories were more than enough for me.

after that they pretty much kicked us all out.

I had such an amazing time. the show was only half the fun for me, getting to meet so many great people from here was just as exciting. all of you i got to meet were simply awesome, cheryl with her awesome new york accent and angeline with her irish accent. good times. i had such a great time hanging out with you guys. major props to beth and cheryl for convincing me to go, then helping me with gas money. i appreciate it so much. and major props to greg for letting us stay with him. this trip was way beyond worthwhile, and i'm really glad i made it. I was also lucky enough to meet some other people from GDA and the forum. As I was walking back and forth to see if the tour bus was there yet people would stop me and say "hey, andres from gda right? your site is the best" or something like that, thanks so much for coming up. I was really happy to meet all of you, and I'm so glad you guys all got to enjoy it too.
