22nd May, 2007 – a day that burnt into my heart, my soul as a red letter day. After nearly two weeks investigation resulted in success, I saw Jason in live, he was shooting the film Good in Krúdy street a few steps from me.

We got an uncertain tip-off that the shooting might take place in Krúdy street, so I started to speculate whether to tell this to you, because it was so unsure and we had already failed on Friday, so I didn’t want to fire blind again.
I left my workplace earlier, around half past 11 and we set out for Krúdy street. When we left the boulevard and arrived into that small street, nothing seemed to be happening, but as we headed for Mikszáth Kálmán square, we caught sight of two old-timer cars and we knew we were at the right place. There is a café at the square, we sat down there. We ordered an enormous portion of food not to be thrown out.

We were in the middle of eating, kept our eyes peeled when luxury cars passed by (actors are transported to the set by a chauffeaur) and suddenly Viggo was staring out of one of these beautiful cars, with a hat on his head. I need hardly say that it was 32-33 celcius (89 fahrenheit)!

I warned Blooming: ’There’s Viggo!’
She continued eating without looking because I teased her with this before with a guy who wasn’t Viggo of course. I pushed her arm, saying ’Viggoooooo!’
She looked up, saying ’What???’
We were lucky – he stopped for a moment and we saw him laughing on us. He was so sweet.

From that on we didn’t take our eyes from the cars but Jason didn’t pop up. To be honest, I started to feel desperate, I was disappointed. Then we saw a couple of extras/dummies gathering and the street was closed. We paid and walked up on Krúdy street towards the boulevard.
That section was full of people from the cast, we could hardly move in that crowd but they were quite nice. Pedestrians also tried to get about and a couple of them were in a tantrum, because of the cast blocking the way.
Blooming was in front of me, rehearsal was going on one meter away.
AND THEN
THE VOICE!

It was unbelievable, indiscribable. I was standing there staring. He was standing in front of me, in the middle of the street, in a light summer suit of the period and was saying his lines.
Blooming went on and I stopped her:
-He’s there. – I wasn’t shouting, I had no voice at all (Blooming says I stood there with an unworldly face.)
Blooming looked at me and asked: ’Who? Viggo?’

I pointed at him, and Blooming nearly bumped into him and she was dumbfounded. I guess she looked exactly like me.
It was one of the most wonderful moments of my life.
Blooming saw that I needed to sit down and there was a free space, I flopped down there.
And I was staring and staring and staring.
As he was acting, he enjoyed what he was doing.
To be honest I needed half an hour to realize it was him who was playing in front of me.
He was kind to everybody, had fun with the staff, he was exactly the same as I had imagined him.

He looks gorgeous in real life!
Blooming says he looks much younger in live than on the photos and I agree with that.
When we came to ourselves again we tried to attract his attention as quietly as we could.
He was walking to and fro in front of us, his make up was being done, he drank water, had a rest, had fun with the cast. But to tell the truth we didn’t dare to do much because the cast spotted us as we were sitting in the hard core, but they were nice and let us sit there. But I think if we had started to make some noise or to wave or hiss, we would have been thrown out immediately and they would have been right. Jason was working there!
Blooming went a bit farther because Viggo was in the window of a house ahead us. Oh and the scene, I haven’t talked about that yet.

Jason was acting down in the street, while Viggo was saying his lines from a window, and he was standing there half naked, wearing only a towel on his shoulder.
They had a conversation and Jason left. This had probably been a part where the two friends are already in a row and some antagonism had come out.
Jason (Maurice) called Viggo (Halder) who answered he would not go because he didn’t have time even for a drink, he worked so much. Jason tried to persuade him but finally he went away. This was the whole scene, they recorded it at least seven times and before all these scenes a rehearsal had been made.

Blooming had the opportunity to take pictures of him, this was also done in secret of course. I could only make one good photo of him but sincerely I don’t care, he was standing in front of me for two hours and that’s enough for me.

At the rehearsals the civilians were admitted to go and it was funny to see that a number of pedestrians nearly pushed Jason over.
There was a moment when he was looking in my way for a longer time and I waved a bit. Cigarette was crucial in the scene and I found it funny that he had a smoke when he was called back to shoot and he showed that no way would he leave this fag there. And he grinned.

Jason was like on any everyday photo. I was afraid a bit at first, that I might get disappointed, but no, he was as I had imagined him a thousand times before.
He flubbed a couple of times during shooting
Before Viggo shouted down from the window, Jason had had to advance towards the camera 5 steps but he did 8 steps a number of times. Finally, he grinned and said ’Sorrrrryyy!’

Even when there were intervals he was walking to and fro, repeating his lines. It was obvious that he lived for this role – we know how much time he had waited for this film.
And he has got big feet!
When his make up was being done, four meters from us, he was straddling and chatting. The prop girl was going about with a bag of cigarettes. LOL

The make-up artist was also walking around him during the rehearsal, combing and puffing. When she couldn’t reach the top of his head ( and let me report he is not getting bold) he leant back to make it easier for her.

The greatest thing was when he started to stick out his tongue, I don’t know why, he got crazy
There was a part when they finished the scene, big silence, then drivers started to blow horns, and he had such a hearty laugh at that, that even if it hadn’t been so hot I would have been melting anyway.
At the end, when they went into the yard of the house I caught him for a couple of glances, he was standing against a red car, laughing and chatting. Again
