Testimony of Glory

Quest to acquire occupation change item, 'Mark of Glory'. Prefect Vokian says in order to survive the Chaotic Chronicle, the Orcs must unify all of their tribal kingdoms. If you can subjugate each Orc tribe while representing the Lord, you shall receive the Mark of Glory. However, to become representative to the Lord, you must defeat the manashen, the tyrant, and the guardian basilisk as a test, and retrieve ten items from each.

Faj: Ork
Minimum szint: 37

Beginning Notes: This quest is long, really long, you can do it all in one shot, but you may find that many of the areas you must visit coincide with your other class change quests. This quest is also hard, you will likely want to have at least 1000 SS or SpS of the appropriate type for your weapon, you will have an easier time at level 40 with C Grade Mastery and C grade equipment. You will need at least 9000 adena to complete this quest. You need to be at least level 38 to complete this quest. A quantity of Haste Potions will help you quickly cover the distance in this quest.

Talk to Prefect Voikan in Giran. He is in the big courtyard near the western entrance (the one without the bridge). He will give you a list of mobs to slay, you will need 10 items from each one:

a) 10 Manasen Gargoyle (drops item each time, found underneath the Ivory Tower)
b) 10 Tyrant or Tyrant Kingpin (drops item about half the time, found in the Wastelands)
c) 10 Guardian Basalisk (drops item each time, found in Death's Pass)

Note: When hunting the Manasen Gargoyle (just called Manasen in your quest box) watch out for the Enchanted Monster Eye, they are agressive and easily have a Speed of over 200 (in other words, you can't outrun them). There are also, other, tougher Gargoyles around which won't give you the quest item.

Once you get all the items, return to Prefect Voikan, he will give you a Necklace of Authority and send you to Dion to speak with Gandi Chief Chianta. Chianta is located with the other orcs, behind the buildings in the NE corner of Dion. He will ask you to collect five Scepters from the lesser Orc tribes. You must talk to Seer Manakia in Giran to find out about the Enuku and Breka orc tribes. Manakia stands right next to Voikan, he will give you a letter for each tribal chief. Head North towards Dragon Valley to find Breka Chief Voltar.

Breka Chief Voltar is located on the South side of the cliffs heading up into Dragon Valley. He is near many Break Orc Overlords, /loc X:79971 Y:120370. Talk to Voltar, of course he won't want to give the Scepter to you and will summon his two sons. Proceed to kill them, don't worry they aren't hard and won't help each other. Talk to Chief Voltar again and he will give you the Scepter.

Now head South, way South. You see the triangle of roads on your map South of Floran? That's where you need to be. Enuku Chief Kepra is there, on the beach, standing behind a rock at /loc X:17660 Y:190008. Talk to him and he won't want to give up his Scepter either. He summons 4 bodyguards. Before you attack them, make sure you are ready, they will help each other and are quite tough. If you can effectively kite them (Monks and Shamen) do so, Raiders, quaff a quick step potion. Make sure you have some healing potions on hand. Kill then run, kill then run. If at some point the bodyguards disappear just talk to Enuku Chief Kepra again and he will resummon the remaining (albeit fully healed) bodyguards. So if you have too much trouble, kill one at a time and run for it until the others give up the chase then come back and do one more, rinse, repeat. Once they are dead talk to Kepra again and you will get his Scepter.

Now run to the entrance of the wastelands and use an escape scroll, you should end up in Gludin. Talk to Prefect Kasman and get letters for the Leunt, Vuku, and Turek orc tribes. Now you have to run back down towards the Forgotten Temple (I know, you were just there!), go along the road South of the Forgotten Temple, on the beach is Leunt Chief Harak at /loc X:-55307 Y:200629. Talk to him and... SURPRISE, he tells you he's been waiting for you and gives you the Scepter. Escape back to Gludin and go North along the road to the Orc Barracks.

By some tents in the Orc Barracks you will find Turek Chief Burai at /loc X:94097 Y:110875. Before you talk to him it would be best to clear out the area around him. You are higher level than these mobs but not by that much and there are a lot of them so be careful. Once you clear the area quickly talk to Burai, he won't want to give you Scepter and summons two Turek Bugbears to deal with you, attack, they will help each other and anything else that respawns in the meantime will also join in. Once you kill the Turek Bugbears you can talk to Chief Burai again and he will give you his Scepter.

Now run east towards Gludio. It's a long walk, once you are East of the Ruins you can escape to Gludio if you want, but you are already mostly there. East of Gludio, across the river and North of the Bridge to Dion you will find Vuku Chief Driko at /loc X:-2038 Y:124413. Speak to him, he wants to bargain with you. He will give you his Scepter in exchange for 30 Husks of the Marsh Stakato Drone. They spawn around Cruma Tower on the small islands. You can tell them from other Marsh Stakato mobs as they are the only ones with full sized wings. They are agressive (regular Marsh Stakatos are the only other agressive Stakatos). Here's the bad news, they only drop a Husk on about 2/3 of the kills, so you will be killing more than just 30. Also they spawn few and far between and are involved in not only at least one other class change quest, but the Hunt for the Black Lion quest. So as you see them use SS or SpS and wipe them out. Expect this to take awhile. Note: Sometimes asking people who are not class changing to leave the Drones alone will work if you are nice.

When you finally have 30 Marsh Stakato Drone Husks run back to Vuku Chief Driko and talk to him, he'll give you his Scepter, now run to Dion (escaping from Driko will put you in Gludio, don't do it) and talk to Gandi Chief Chianta again. He'll take the Scepters and tell you about two tribes that killed their last messangers, the Tamlin and Timak orc tribes. You need to collect 20 necks from each tribe.

Run to Hunters Village, the road from either of the North exits will take you to some Tamlin Orcs and Tamlin Orc Archers (neither are agressive but will help each other). These are pretty tough mobs (especially if you are still stuck in D grade), expect to be resting after every two kills or so. Bring plenty of SS or SpS and some healing potions to speed things up. Note: Despite needing to collect 'necks' these guys actually drop Tamlin Orc Skulls and don't do it every time. In fact it is not unusual to kill 4 or more without getting a single skull.

Did you think the Tamlin Orcs were hard enough? Well head North to the Ivory Tower (don't jump down this time). Timak Orcs spawn around this area and are even harder (the Soldiers and Overlords are agressive). Be careful of the Timak Orc Overlords which are several levels higher than you even at 40. Collect the 20 Timak Orc Heads and you have enough. Like the Tamlin Orcs, the Timaks won't drop a head on every kill, it also seems that Soldiers rarely drop a head while the Warriors usually do. Get some help for these if you can.

When you are done getting 'necks' it's time to go back to Dion for another conversation with Gandi Chief Chianta. He will ask you to get a seal from Seer Tanapi in Orc Village. Go to Gludin (porting from Gludio only costs 2900 adena and may be worth it for you at this point) and use the Gatekeeper to go to Orc Village. If you somehow managed to miss where Seer Tanapi is while you were a low level Orc, he's one of the mage trainers in the big building.

Seer Tanapi will tell you that you need to either kill the Ragna Orc Seer or Warlord to get the get the Scepter of Tantos (the Tantos is a wrongly executed orc tribe that the Ragna are trying to raise from the dead). They are located in visual range of each other so you choose which one you want to wipe out. Go to the Cave of Trials, head South along the road, when you get to the southern most bridge jump down into the canyon, you should be able to see them. Kill one, he'll scream it's already too late and a Tantos Orc Apparition will appear, kill it too and you will get the Scepter of the Tantos. Take the Scepter back to Tanapi and he'll give you a box to bring to Lord of the Flame Kakai. Note: Don't jump down into the canyon before getting to the bridge, there are some terrain bugs down there that will get you stuck and you'll have to escape to town to get out of them.

Lord Kakai is up the ramp to the second floor. Give him the Ceremonial Box and you'll get receive 40,000 exp, 5000 SP, and Glory's Voucher. You are finally done with the Testimony of Glory (probably should be named the Testimony of Pateince).
