Test of the Duelist
Quest to acquire occupation change item, 'Mark of the Duelist'. Duelist Kaien explains that a duelist is one who has extreme abilities with weapons and there are only a few who have achieved that title. To earn the Mark of the Duelist, you must defeat the most powerful monster of each kingdom more than ten times. Look for the monsters of each province as shown in Kaien's order.
Kaszt: bladedancer, gladiator, swordsinger, tyrant
Faj: Sötét Elf, Elf, Ember, Ork
Minimum szint: 39

Beginning Notes: This quest is hard, very hard, load up on SS and SpS for your weapon grade, healing potions, and some Haste potions for quick getaways. This quest cannot be completed until you are level 40. This quest is much easier if you are level 40 with C Grade Mastery and have C grade equipment. Having a friend help you with the first half of the quest is very recommended. You don't actually have to kill any of the mobs in this quest completely, like most such quests, you only need to land the final blow.
Go to Oren and speak with Duelist Kaien, he's in the southwestern corner of the city against the wall in one of the shops. He will give you 5 lists of mobs to kill. Each list has two mobs from each region of Aden. You have to kill each mob 10 times.
Gludio - Puncher and Male Ant Noble
Dion - Marsh Stakato Drone and Dead Seeker
Giran - Breka Orc Overlord and Fettered Soul
Oren - Enchanted Monster Eye (called, something else in your quest box) and Leto Lizardman Chief
Aden - Tamlin Orc and Tamlin Orc Archer (both called Tamrin in your quest box)
It is probably best to hunt everything in the above order. The Gludio and Dion lists should be no problem.
Gludio Notes: Both the Puncher and the Male Ant Noble can be found in the same spot, /loc X:-23010 Y:182750 (do NOT go into the Ant's Nest to find the Male Ant Noble, at least two spawn outside, and the nest is a good way to die if you are alone). This is at the SW corner of the picture of the Ant's Nest on your map.
Dion Notes: The Marsh Stakato Drone spawns on the islands around Cruma Tower, they are the only Stakato with full sized wings. You may have trouble finding 10 as they are involved in several quests. The Dead Seeker spawns in the Execution Grounds.
Giran Notes: Break Orc Overlords spawn on the southern cliff face as you walk up to enter Dragon Valley (from Giran). Fettered Souls spawn in Death's Pass and will likely be difficult.
Note: Right before or after doing the Giran mob list you may want to enlist someone's help for everything remaining as you will only be running around in the same general areas.
Oren Notes: Leto Lizardman Chiefs Spawn mostly on the eastern side of the road to Oren (especially South of the cutoff to Hunter's Village). Enchanted Monster Eyes spawn under the Ivory Tower (jump down), they are agressive and have a Speed of over 200 (you can't outrun them).
Aden Notes: Tamlin Orcs and Archers actually spawn just outside of Hunter's Village, along the road from either North exit.
Once you have everything, run back to Oren and speak to Duelist Kaien again. He'll take everything from you and provide a final list for you. You have to kill each mob on the list 3 times.
Krator and Excuro: These are both found in Cruma Tower on the first floor. Krators especially are almost impossible for you to solo even at 40 and with C Grade. You're best bet is to go to the NE corner rooms and ask a group if they'll help you land the last hit on 3 Krators and Excuros. Say you're doing you're class change quest, you'll probably get buffed, healed and all kinds of help. Use your most damaging power hit to land the finishing blow. Leave the party and thank them profusely, we want everyone to get such great help.
Grandis: This guy looks like a two headed bugbear (actually mostly like an Ogre from Warcraft), he can be found North of Dragon Valley. Go through Death's Pass, when you get to the bridge over the river to Oren territory, follow the river east to the where it ends. Several Grandis spawn here. They are aggressive but slow. You should have no problem soloing 3 of them.
Lakin (called rakin in your quest box): This guy looks like a Grandis (two heads, etc.). Take the road from Hunter's Village to Aden, just after you pass the Forest of Mirrors you will see some near some Wierd Drakes. Neither are aggressive and there is plenty of room to kite them around there (they have nearly 1800HP and hit hard). Kite them with whatever ranged offensive ability you may have. If you don't have one at all, they move slowly, so use your power hits back run back until your skills recharge (and you've possibly drunk a healing potion) and then move in and use them again. Lakins do have a Stun Attack, so watch out, they can easily do several hundred damage before their stun wears off. They drop Lakin's Mace (even though they are obviously carrying a hammer).
Timak Orc Overlord: These can be found among the other Timak Orc types north of the Ivory Tower. They are pretty tough and agressive to boot so be careful, they will give you a Timak Orc Belt. Also, other Timak Orc types are agressive so, again, be careful and get help if possible.
When you finally have everything speak with Duelist Kaien in Oren once more. He will give you the Mark of Duelist, as well as 24,000 exp and 3100 SP.
