Please pay attention
to correct polarity of electrolytic capacitor, diode D1, and thyristor
(the polarity of the trigger diode D2 is of no importance). The flashing
speed can be adjusted with the potentiometer "P". If the flash tube
becomes defective after continuous use (irregular flashes), it has to be
replaced. If the board is installed into the case G089, the potentiometer
"P" has to be replaced by the trimming capacitor (without axle). The flash
sequence must be adjusted firmly before installation into the case. It is
not allowed to drill a hole into the case for adjusting the trimming
capacitor since otherwise the protection against accidental contact (see
indicating box) will not be guaranteed any more. For installation into the
case G089 the flashbulb has to be mounted in horizontal position. Please
be careful when bending the leads of the components! The leads of the
components must be hold fast with small pincers at a distance of approx. 1
mm to the glass body. Then bend the wires on the other side of the
pincers. If you bend the wires in another way, the glass body may break.
In order to intensify the effect of the flashes, you may place a mirror
into the case behind the flashbulb.
Attention!
This instrument operates at mains voltage. For that
reason it is absolutely required to install the board in an insulated
chassis! Further, a 1A-fuse must be installed at the mains (short-circuit
protection). A plexiglas-window in front of the flash tube is to be glued
to the chassis.
The board has to be installed in such a manner that it
is impossible to touch the board or parts of it! The capacitors of the
stroboscope may be loaded; even for some time after the instrument has
been disconnected, and release fatal surge voltage. |
