Mini-Infrared Light Barrier 3m

Infrared light barrier with transmitter and receiver and a range of approx. 3 metres at maximum. If the invisible infrared ray of light is interrupted (if for example a person walks through the ray of light), this will be indicated by a light-emitting diode.
Operating voltage: 9...12V=.
If other appliances shall be switched with the light barrier (e.g. a siren), a relay can be connected in addition: (6V, >120 Ohm, not contained in the kit).
Please equip the board according to the parts list and assembly print: The phototransistor "T" must be protected from foreign light! For this purpose please use a black tube of cardboard or plastic in which the phototransistor is installed. All sides of the tube must be closed against incidence of light with the exception of the front side. The tube must be mounted in such a manner that no foreign light may shine in. Only the transmitting LED "LED" is arranged in such a manner that it lights into the tube at a distance of approx. 0.5...3 metres (the infrared ray of light is invisible). The plastic convergent lense is stuck into the black tube according to the drawing. Please pay attention that the phototransistor is installed exactly in the focus of the convergent lense so that the optimum range is achieved! If the light barrier is switched on now, LED 1 lights up. If the ray of light between the transmitting LED's and phototransistor is interrupted through a foreign body, LED 1 extinguishes. In addition you may also connect a relay. It should be a relay as follows: 6V, inductive resistance higher than 120 Ohm (not contained in the kit). If the LED 1 also lights if the infrared LED's do not light on the phototransistor, then the phototransistor gets foreign light. In this case please check if really no foreign light (lamp, sunlight) lights on the phototransistor! All sides of the phototransistor are sensitive to foreign light, not only the front! But if the light barrier still remains switched on through foreign light, please extend the black tube further to the front so that no further foreign light may get into the convergent lense from the side.
