A történet nem túl bonyolult. Kopasz és Kövérke a hong-kongi rendőrség legeredményesebb kettőse, mégis gyakorta kell szemlesütve állniuk felettesük irodájában a sorozatos fegyelmi vétségek, túlkapások miatt. És valóban elképesztő, miket művelnek! (Erről kicsit később.) Nem csoda, hogy az őrületbe kergetik amúgy jóindulatú kapitányukat!... A vezérszál a helyi drogkartell utáni hajsza. A Kokainkirály (röstellem, de hiába szerepelt ő is számtalan kínai harci filmben szintén elismerésre méltó teljesítményt nyújtva, az ő nevét nem tudom) és öccse, Dedly Eddie uralják az egész város kábítószer-piacát. Egészen addig, amíg hírhedt kopóinkkal szembe nem kerülnek...

Útközben a Sejket elrabolja a Las Vegas-i maffia, és ha tényleg meg akarják kapni a pénzt, a futam résztvevőinek meg kell őt menteni. Számtalan komikus helyzet és a maffiával történő vad összetűzés után a Sejk bejelenti, hogy Las Vegasban szeretne üzleti vállalkozásba kezdeni. Döntése azonban nem változtat az eredetileg kitűzött célon, így a verseny teljes bedobással folytatódik, csak J.J. nincs sehol. Ő ugyanis a Sejk vaskos pénztárcájával és egy csinos lánnyal az ellenkező irányba tart.
