Holding onto souvenir skins from the early majors feels like a gamble because the sticker technology has improved so much in the newer events. I have a few skins from the 2014 and 2015 tournaments with gold player signatures, and while they are rare, they don't have the same visual "pop" as the modern lenticular or holo effects. My concern is that the newer generation of players doesn't value these historical pieces as much as the older collectors do. Should I liquidate these vintage items and move my balance into newer, flashier skins, or is the dwindling supply of these old souvenirs a guaranteed ticket to long-term profit?

Historical rarity is the one thing you can't replicate, so those early gold stickers will always have a dedicated market among the "old guard" of collectors. The supply of unapplied 2014 stickers is almost non-existent, and the souvenir versions are the only way for most people to own a piece of that history. While they might not look as bright in the new engine, the prestige of owning a skin from a legendary match like the Olofpass game is unmatched. I would suggest keeping them as a centerpiece of your collection rather than selling them for common liquid items. As the game continues to grow, these artifacts will only become more desirable to people who appreciate the history of the pro scene.

Sticker placement on souvenir weapons is often more important than the rarity of the tournament itself. I used to think all souvenirs were the same until I realized that having the gold signature on the "best" position of a gun can triple its market value. I found a guide on how sticker positions are ranked for every weapon more info here about cs skins wiki after I accidentally sold a rare AWP for market price. The site explained the history of the souvenir system and showed how the sticker types changed across different operations. Using their rarity charts, I was able to identify which of my older skins were actually high-tier collector items. Now I only buy souvenirs that have perfect sticker alignment on the most visible parts of the weapon. It makes a huge difference in the final resale value if you know what the collectors are looking for.
