Warren enjoyed a couple of impressive seasons in the middle of defensive line putting up 150 total tackles, 16.5 sacks and nine pass deflections as well as seven forced fumbles throughout two seasons in the Browns. These are impressive numbers indeed but think about the situation of the Madden NFL 24 Draft.
Warren was named after Michael Vick and Leonard Davis two players who played to make seven Pro Bowl appearances. (Though Davis has an argument for being a failure in his own way.) Next came Warren. In the next season, came four-time Pro Bowl, All-Pro Justin Smith. Then came five-time Pro Bowl, three-time All-Pro running back LaDainian Tomlinson. After that came the seven-time Pro Bowl, three-time All-Pro Richard Seymour. The next pick, Andre Carter, made one Pro Bowl and has 78.5 lifetime sacks.
The biggest issue with Warren is the kind of organization he maintains at the top of the draft, however that doesn't demonstrate how awful the Browns have at making the right selections. Warren is surrounded by six players that made a Pro Bowl. The only thing that could be worse is the fact that the Browns next selection, the wide receiver Quincy Morgan, is also in the same group as six players who have made it to a Pro Bowl. (Reggie Wayne, Todd Heap, Drew Brees, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Alge Crumpler, Chad Johnson.)
Brown, Warren, Couch and Morgan are only three examples of why the Browns have been so sloppy for so long. Terrible talent evaluators that simply picked the wrong players. But on the bright note, they actually did discover two players to kick off this list.
Cleveland is awesome!
Honorable Mention: Here is where we can fit Leonard Davis. As a player who is a step ahead of Warren you might not expect to land a guard, but that's the situation with Arizona as well as Davis. Davis played for six seasons with the Cardinals changing around the line from right guard to an underwhelming left tackle, then leaving the team to make an Pro Bowl guard with the Cowboys. Davis can have an excellent career however, he is just another black mark on the face of the Cardinals draft record.
8. Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville - 10th overall, Houston, Mut 24 coins 2007
I'd like to begin with saying that Okoye has always been a standout player. There are certain things that always stick out for me on draft days and will be remembered for the rest of my life and ensure that I'll follow certain players that I don't actually have any attachments to and Okoye is sure to be among those players.
There was a lot of talk about the issue that Okoye 19-year-old Okoye was set to be one of the youngest players to be selected in the first round. He picked Louisville at the age of 15 and decided to turn down Harvard to take the pick. He played football in college when he reached the age of 16. He graduated early. He was a second-team All-American at the age of 19. He had a tremendous head on his shoulders and was a supreme sportsman for his age and the idea of what Okoye might become was overwhelming. But at a certain level, are we over-emphasizing the possibilities of the potential of a player in comparison to what he is? Could Okoye have been an ideal choice in the 3rd round as a development project to perhaps perform on a regular basis at the age of 23 or 24 instead of 20?
However, the Texans were unaware of his age and drafted them, and they also ignored the next set of players selected, which include Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch, and Darrelle Revis. What do you think of the Texans today without Willis or Revis?
One can observe that 2007's draft is full with disappointments, including those who were picked ahead of Okoye Levi Brown, Jamaal Anderson and Ted Ginn Jr, but Okoye appears to be the player that stands out the most because of the fact that it was always a major risk to draft an teen into Madden NFL 24 that very early in the selection. Okoye played four seasons with Houston and has been a bench player for the Bears over the last two seasons.
On the bright side there is plenty of the time to make Okoye turn it around. For all he has to do is only 25!
Honorable An Honorable Mention: Six selections later the Packers chosen defensive tackle Justin Harrell out of Tennessee. He was a rookie recovering from an injury to his biceps tendon. He later showed up OTAs overweight, played in seven games as a rookie. He then started in 2008 on the PUP and played in six games He was out for all of 2009. missed all but one game in 2010 and was absent from the team with 14 games played and 2 starts. This is a Harrell of considerably less than Green Bay expected.
7. Mike Williams, WR, USC 10th overall, Detroit, 2005
This is one of the least-controversial inclusions in this list, wouldn't you agree? There are plenty of elements that contribute to "WTF?" to ignore the fact it was Williams on the Lions at 10th made absolutly no sense.
The Lions had just drafted Roy Williams at seventh overall the year before. The Lions had just drafted Charles Rogers at second overall prior to the time of Roy Williams! He did not play football for a year.If you're planning on loading with a position three years, and you're the Lions surely you're using wide receivers? If you're one of the Lions and you're Matt Millen it does make sense. He was selected over DeMarcus Ware Shawne Merriman in addition to Derrick Johnson. And not forgetting Aaron Rodgers, at a time when you really could have written off Joey Harrington without much fight from anyone else besides Joey Harrington.
Instead, they went with Williams, a player that did not come off as a surprise when he caught seven passes that accounted for 349 yards as well as two scores over two seasons in Detroit and Williams himself admits that he ate to get out. He definitely takes a significant portion of this list.
Honorable Mention: Troy Williamson went to the Vikings three selections ahead of Williams. The athlete had a 4.32 40-yard time which, I believe, would have been enough for him to get Minnesota to take the pick they got for Randy Moss on his replacement. It was unfortunate that he was more similar to the Moss that played for the Vikings towards the end of his career, not at the beginning of it.
6. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida Tim Tebow, QB. Florida Denver, 25th overall selection in 2010.
Josh McDaniels on Tebow: "He has the qualities you're looking for. It's a great pick."
It's tempting to sit here and call Tebow's inclusion on this list a gimmick for pages viewed, but it's a lot more clear that the Broncos utilized a 2nd three, third and fourth round draft pick on one player , as an opportunistic way to attract the attention of others or because they didn't care much about his on-field skills and attributes. If you were listening to people praise Tim Tebow the quarterback, they would use terms such as "football players," this in turn does not describe 99.9 percent of people within the Madden NFL 24.
The 0.1 per cent, on some basis, may be considered individuals similar to Tebow. They do not have the physical attributes or skills for playing in professional ranks, but are offered opportunities based on the things they learned in college.
When it comes to achieving success in the Madden NFL 24 the game, it doesn't matter if you've won the Heisman Trophy or a national championship. And players such as Jason White and Charlie Ward weren't considered to be more important by the league due to what they accomplished in college. It's a decent instance like Eric Crouch, who was chosen as a wide receiver from the Rams and should be in the top ten spots on this list, even though Crouch was a third-round selection, but never made it to the start of his rookie season. What's more amazing is that Tebow was a 1st round pick who was not able to reach his third season in Denver and is now considered to be a project not worth the investment of the majority?
If Tebow was not Tebow and we didn't, we could be overlooking the possibility of a team trading three picks with the Ravens to place him 25th overall but even if Tebow was not Tebow this probably wouldn't have occurred. Denver may have had a chance to recover quickly thanks to the acquisition of Peyton Manning after two seasons, and they might have made it to the playoffs for the first time in 2011 however, the move was never an easy one, and will probably never be.
The Honorable Mention Award: It's hard to believe that the Cardinals were doing a terrible thing when they selected Matt Leinart with the 10th overall selection in the year 2006. after all you need an experienced quarterback in the league, and Kurt Warner was just going keep the team warm. But could due diligence to the commitment of Leinart's commitment prompted them move in a different direction? As in Jay Cutler, Haloti Ngata, Kamerion Wimbley, or Chad Greenway? Really, any player who hasn't recorded just 18 starts over six years.
Where is Jason Smith?
Smith took the top overall pick in the 2009 draft. To be honest Smith is among the least valuable second round picks in Madden NFL 24 history, having had three disappointing seasons with the Rams which was followed by a disastrous season for the Jets and could be followed by a bad season for the Saints in 2013. But what could the Rams have performed? You also won't see on this roster: Tyson Jackson, Aaron Curry, Mark Sanchez, Andre Smith, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Eugene Monroe, or Aaron Maybin. The 2009 top draft is horribly bad, and no one wins.
5. Sebastian Janikowski, K, Florida State - 17th overall, Raiders, 2000
If you were able to justify Janikowski as the best kicker ever, which you obviously can't achieve, it's still not justify him being the 17th overall pick. There is no reason for this when the greatest kickers from all-time can quite obviously be picked in the fourth round regardless of whether you believe they're truly great.
Foles has completed 21-of-26 throws for seven touchdowns and 400 yards. Foles has not only been the best quarterback of Sunday's game but Foles has been the most effective quarterback in all of Madden NFL 24 week thus far and is on track for the best game ever played. He's the Oakland Raiders defenders are no fools, but the team has no choice but to rely on a reliable pocket passer who can slash through its secondary.
Riley Cooper and DeSean Jackson have both been thriving. Both receivers have more than 100 yards in receiving yards, and Cooper has caught 3 touchdowns on passes. This is the first time Chip Kelly's offense is able to succeed without adequate run support from LeSean McCoy, who is facing a strong Raiders defense.
It's been just under two minutes on the clock in the final quarter, and the Eagles have a lead of 49-13.
Latest update Foles had to be replaced by Matt Barkley in the fourth quarter. He finished the day 22-of-28 to gain 406 yards. He scored seven touchdowns and no interceptions.

Jaguars 2013: Arizona starts as road favorite
The Jacksonville Jaguars earned their first win of the season in Week 10 with a road victory against Tennessee Titans. Tennessee Titans, but that does not make oddsmakers think they'll make it two games in succession, given that the Arizona Cardinals are road favorites in Week 11.
Arizona enjoyed back-toback wins at home, defeating at least the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans with a bye week in between. At 5-4 Arizona is 5-4. Cardinals will be entering EverBank Field in the final game of their season on Sunday as touchdown favorites with most sportsbooks having the line at seven points to the team on the road, according to OddsShark.
The Jaguars and Cardinals have only played each other three times over the course of their history and Jacksonville earning victories in 2000 and 2005. but defeating Arizona on the field in the 2009. The Cardinals were able to win 31-17 during the last meeting of the two teams en route to a 10-win season and a spot in the playoffs' divisional round. There's simply nothing this guy can't do on the football field. He's able to take the quick balls and make them go into the distance, he can spread the field by using the long ball, and there isn't anyone better at going up to catch jumping balls. Furthermore unlike other top wideouts, he blocks his own ego in the run game.
With Cowboys head coach/offensive coordinator Jason Garrett's new-found emphasis on the running game, Bryant isn't seeing quite as many ball thrown to him. In fact, after five games Bryant is just averaging 11.8 yards for each reception. This would be his lowest mark of the career. There's no sign of Bryant in a rant about his stats, however, and no one is more over than he does after running back DeMarco's Murray gets off another huge run. When you witness the passion and enthusiasm Byrant is able to bring to every move, it's hard not to love his game.
Even with the lower number of players, you'll still see them trying all kinds of double-teaming techniques to prevent Dez from getting the ball. But he is able to find ways to have an impact on every game. He may not get many balls in a row, but he is able to maximize his chances of success with the throws that do get his way. And then there are the teams that have a tough stance such as that of Houston Texans this past Sunday, who actually allow him to play in singled-up man-to-man coverage. This isn't just fair.
I can understand why defenses in the other team will have to believe the corner might protect Bryant all by themselves, since they're required to assign an injury to the box in order to stop the Cowboys run game. It is likely something you only want to do every sometimes, but this isn't for the best part of the game. It's especially dangerous to do this during crucial situations when the game hangs in the in the balance. This is a lesson Texans learnt the hard way.
In the fourth quarter, Bryant was having a very quiet game, with just five catches for 40 yards without scoring. Murray had once again been the go-to player for the Cowboys. However it was a matter of time, as the Cowboys clinging to a three-point advantage with a score of 10-7 it became now time for Bryant to put on his cape.
Murray played three times to bring the Cowboys all the way down to the Texans' 2-yard line on their first full game of the 4th quarter. There was a little less than 10 minutes in the game and the Cowboys were on the line with Murray, a tight end, and three receivers in the formation. One of the receivers, Dwayne Harris, initially lined in the center of the field to the left , with Dez on the other side of him. He then moved over to the opposite edge of the middle and lined up directly behind the tight end, Jason Witten.
The problem that the Texans is that the corner lined up opposite Harris while he was aligned in the slot was with him as he moved across. That showed how the Texans were in man-to–man coverage with rookie cornerback seventh round Andre Hal lined up out between Bryant and Bryant trying to protect the entire field by his self. The play was finished before the center got the ball. Dez went right at Hal before turning around and easily picked up the back shoulder fade of Tony Romo for a touchdown to put the Cowboys ahead, 17-7.
They deserve credit for their efforts. Texans did not quit in scoring a field goal and a touchdown in consecutive drives to tie the game. Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey missed a 53-yard field goal when time ran out, pushing the game into overtime. The Texans won the coin flip and decided to take the win. However their offense, their momentum did not last into the extra half-hour and they ended up having to punt when they got all the way to the Cowboys 48-yard line.
The upside was the Texans were able to pin the Cowboys back deep in their own territory with a well-timed punt. Dallas had to start the drive from the 10-yard mark of their territory. If the Texans could stop them from putting them down back there as well as force punting there was a good chance they would be able to get the ball back and have a great field position and only require the field goal to win. They did give up one early down to the Cowboys however, following an incomplete pass and a stop of Murray for only a yard or more at a time, the Texans faced the Cowboys with a third-and-9 at Their own line of 32 yards. This was still a great scenario as a defense.
But you can see that they were hard-headed, and you know what happens to people who are hard-headed aren't you?
Instead of four players rushing -- they are home to one of the greatest players to rush passes football's seen as J.J. Watt -- and playing coverage, the Texans made the decision to play blitz Romo. In theory, this would sound as a viable strategy. Watt has won a few games but ultimately had struggled to get rid of Romo all game. Romo is also known whether earned or not to make big errors under pressure at the end of the game. This is where the idea goes : With the blitz, you are once again going to have Dez Bryant picked out in coverage. Why would you want these problems?
OK, so this time they chose not to send the seventh-rounder who was a rookie on Dez and instead chose to place their top corner on him: Johnathan Joseph. Whoop-de-damn-do. After that ball was hit, and Romo saw the safety that was favoring Bryant's end of the field move into the middle, it didn't make a damn difference who was out there to protect him. Romo just chucked that ball towards Dez before lowering himself to stay out of the way of a brutal strike by Texans Safety D.J. Swearinger and was aware that if it landed within the area Bryant could be able to catch it.
It's exactly what Dez did, and in spectacular fashion.
Joseph was in a good spot, and truth be told the player probably should have been called for pass interference, since he never looked back at the ball and put his hands into Bryant's face. It didn't matter. It never does.
Bryant was able to leap above Joseph and reached over his head to make the catch After a moment of bobbling the ball, he securing it while he landed on the ground with Joseph on top of him. Bryant is too big and too strong for one man to let him a shot. Then, after 37 yards, Bryant had put his team into field goal range and in a position to win the game.
Yeah, some receivers are taller and stronger. They are also faster. However, if it was up to me, I would choose Dez Bryant over the rest of them each time because I believe he will make the same plays that he did on each and every game regardless of who puts on him.
With only four games this week, there's just the two stadiums we need to think about weather-wise. It starts with the games on Saturday. Cincinnati and Houston on the field at Reliant Stadium and Minnesota and Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
Houston is in the midst of showers . However, with rain likely to continue into the afternoon, it is likely that the players who play at Reliant Stadium will close the roof so this could be more of an indoor event than outdoor. In Wisconsin in particular, at Lambeu Field, a weak buy madden 24 coins disturbance will move across the region on Saturday night, bringing an icy mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Temperatures will be in the 20s. |
