A várva-várt talány… Valahogy így írhatnánk le a Technics legújabb DJ fejlesztésének útját az első hírek felröppenésétől az üvegkalitkába zárt titkon keresztül, a mai napig, amikor végre kézben tarthatjuk
– a Technics által egyszerűen csak „digitális lemezjátszó” néven emlegetett – az SL-DZ1200-ast.

A káprázatos külső már elsőre sem ismeretlen, hiszen a legendás Mk2-es megjelenése köszön vissza ránk minden formájából, így a legfontosabb kezelőszerveket keresnünk sem kell. Minden ott van, ahol azt megszoktuk. Azt, hogy a külső mit rejt, először puszta tényekkel szeretnénk érzékeltetni:

Mielőtt belevágnánk a funkciók ismertetésébe, egy dolgot le kell szögeznünk. Egy „digitális lemezjátszót” próbálgatunk és nem egy „lemez-játszót szimuláló CD lejátszót”. Az SL-DZ1200 nem tartalmaz CD lejátszóktól megszokott CUE funkciót, track közben CUE pontot csak a CUE bankban tárolhatunk.

Tehát, ha egy lemez bekerül – és az auto cue funkció nincs aktiválva –, akkor senki sem ment meg bennünket attól, hogy az ne szólaljon meg, hacsak nem fogjuk meg a lemez felületét… Aki ismeri, milyen erők hatnak a kezére, amikor egy Technics lemezjátszót megállít, azt semmi meglepő nem éri, hiszen itt is ugyanaz a motor forgatja a tányért, mint az elődök esetén. Az egyetlen furcsaság talán a tányér 10”-es mérete lehet, de ezt pár perc után észre sem vesszük.

Azt, hogy miért kellett ilyen sokáig várnunk rá, talán a hangminőséggel is magyarázhatjuk, nem tudtunk belekötni a hallottakba, tiszta és dinamikus hang szól (az időközben elkészült scratch-funkciós CD lejátszókat összehasonlító tesztek értékelése is ezt mutatja), kis hiányosságok talán a scratch-hang szimulálásánál észrevehetőek.

Töréseket, pattogásokat a hangban a master tempo (pitch lock) használata közben tapasztaltunk, master tempoval scratch-elve pedig még egy ménes is csatlakozik a produkcióhoz. (Visszagondolva nem tudtunk egyetlen olyan készüléket sem felidézni, ahol szélsőséges értékeknél ez a probléma ne jelentkezett volna, de az SL-DZ1200 esetében nagyon visszhangos hangot kaptunk.)
Természetszerűleg a sebességállító potméter is a megszokott finomsággal halad a pályán, a tartományok közül pedig egy gomb segítségével választhatunk, a fent említett százalékos értékekből. Kicsit feljebb a lemez-
tányér mellett találjuk a forgásirány váltó kapcsolót, melyet két üzemmódban hasz- nálhatunk. Az egyik esetben a fordítás tányérlassulásnyi időbe telik, míg a másik módban azonnal forgásirányt válthatunk.

Manuális cue állítás helyett rendelkezésünkre áll a cue bank, melyben 4 cue pontot tárolhatunk el. Ezeket a pontokat lejátszás közben rögzíthetünk a realtime rec gomb segítségével, vagy megállított lemeztányérnál ugyanezzel a módszerrel.

Ennél az esetnél azonban egy komoly hibára bukkantunk. Ha megfogjuk a lemeztányért és ezután megnyomjuk a PLAY gombot, a csend helyett pár tizedmásodpercnyire elindul a lejátszás. (Nem értjük, hogyan történhet ilyen.)

A cikk megírásának idején az SL-DZ1200-as az első szoftververzióval volt felszerelve. Lapzártakor még nem tudunk a javított verzió megjelenéséről, de ígéreteket már hallottunk arra vonatkozóan, hogy mind a cikkben is említett hibák, mind a „mastertempós” hangminőség terén is jelentős javulást hoznak a közeljövőben megjelenő update-ek, melyek természetesen a korábban megvásárolt készülékeken is gond nélkül és házilag végrehajthatók lesznek.

 
A cue bank gombjait megnyomva a lejátszás azonnal a kiválasztott cue ponttól folytatódik. A cue bank feletti négy gomb a sampler 4 bankját aktivizálja, amelybe bármit felvehetünk, legyen az akár egy effektezett hang, vagy scratch. A samplerben eltárolt minták hangerejét változtathatjuk, a mintákat loopolhatjuk, valamint bármikor visszajátszhatjuk őket párhuzamosan az aktuális trackkel együtt.

Az effektszekciót a készü-lék jobb felső részén találjuk. Két külön részre bontották az effekteket, de párhuzamosan is használhatóak. Az első a vinyl sim nevet kapta, az ebben található effektek az igazi „recsegős” bakelithangzást hivatottak szimulálni, míg a másik dinamikus effekteket tartalmaz. Bekapcsolva az effektet, a lemezünk segítségével változtathatjuk paramétereit. Közvetlenül nem választhatunk a bankokból, így mindig léptetve érhetjük el a kívánt effektet. A kiválasztás menüszerűen követhető a kijelzőn.

 
A stroboszkópos tányérvilágítás tetején találjuk a Free Wheel funkció gombját, melyet megnyomva a készülék úgy viselkedik, mintha az Mk2-est kikapcsoltuk volna, hang van, de nincs hajtás, tekergethetjük a lemeztányért, ahogyan szeretnénk.
Ha már szó esett a kijelzőről, akkor érdemes megemlítenünk egy teljesen új funkciót, amivel még egyetlen készüléken sem találkoztunk. Mivel rengetegen vagyunk, akik elfordítva dolgozunk a lemezjátszókkal, a tervezők úgy gondolták, mi sem lehetünk hátrányos helyzetben, így egy gomb segítségével a kijelző teljes képét 90 fokonként elforgathatjuk. A kijelzőn egyébként mindent követhetünk, ami a készülékkel történik, a lejátszási időtől az aktuális pozíciókon át, egészen a mért BPM értékig.
A kijelző felett találjuk a loop funkció kezelőit, amihez a megszokott módon In, Out, Reloop/Exit gombok tartoznak, a kijelző alatt pedig a track kiválasztó és search gombokat

Kimeneteit tekintve vonal és digitális kimenettel rendelkezik, de találunk a hátoldalon egy fejhallgató kimenetet, külön hangerőszabályzással. Itt csatlakozhatunk a vezérlőbemenetre a fader start funkció eléréséhez, illetve itt találjuk a fékerő állító potmétert is.

Összegezve a látottakat és hallottakat ez a CD lejátszó nem biztos, hogy tervezésileg az MK2 nyomába érhet, de reméljük, hogy lesz belőle is második kiadás, melyben az említett hibák javításra kerülnek.

Kipróbáltuk rovatunk ezen tesztjének elkészülésére nagy hatással volt a párhuzamosan készített, scratch- funkciós CD lejátszókat felvonultató teszt, így a felsorolt pozitívumok és negatívumok reméljük olvasóink számára is jobban érzékelhetőek lesznek.
