AUSTIN — The family of a West Texas student killed in a car accident last month while volunteering for Republican Ben Carson’s presidential campaign said they are touched by the way the candidate has honored his memory.

Braden Joplin, a 25-year-old from Midland, died last month after two weeks of campaigning for Carson in Iowa. Joplin’s mother, Carolyn Joplin, said Carson and his wife,cheap air jordans, Candy,cheap jordans for sale, were the “most caring, compassionate people.”

“I know why my son believed in him,” Joplin said. “I don’t think he’s used [Braden’s death] for a personal agenda at all.”

Following Joplin’s death, the Carson campaign saw that the last thing Joplin posted on Facebook was an encouragement for his friends to “Trust in God.” In response, Carson renamed his town hall meetings in Iowa and South Carolina “Trust in God” town halls.

“He kind of told us, more or less, at the hospital that night that he wasn’t going to let Braden die in vain,” said Joplin’s brother, Bailey
