Arab television networks covering the protests that they believed had an anti-Morsi bias. Some 20,000 security forces had been deployed on Monday to keep the peace, and Tahrir Square - long the epicenter of protest in Cairo - was blocked off by the military. Stone-throwing clashes between Morsi supporters and opponents took place nearby, and security forces fired tear gas to disperse the crowds.


More than 1,000 of Morsi's supporters have been killed in clashes with security forces since Morsi was deposed.
