Sany Heavy Industry to tap into core sectorsPublished: 08 Mar 2009 23:00:00 PST<p class="authorInfor"]</p]<!--begin CK content--]<P]Mar. 9, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Sany Heavy Industry Co Ltd<600031>, one of China's largest heavy machinery makers, plans to tap into the nuclear power and jet engine manufacturing sectors, the China Daily reported on Sunday, citing Xiang Wenbo, the president of the company.</P]<P]The foray into the new sectors is in line with the company's strategic plan, said Xiang, adding that Sany aims to become the "General Electric of China".</P]<P]The Changsha-headquartered heavy construction equipment maker said it is confident to obtain the regulatory approval to enter these sectors.</P]<P]Sany previously said it will invest EUR 100 million in a plant in western Germany. The plant, which will be built as a research and manufacturing facility, is expected to reach annual sales of EUR 350 million, with gross profit of EUR 48.02 million.<BR]</P]
