I'm UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I'm coming from. How I found it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an ew return actually came to when the place terms changed. I'd just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before every slip, even the boring singles. Their single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn't matter. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that's where I'd always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it's here
lucky 15 calculator
and it's free with no account nonsense. The thing that actually made a difference were the geekier tools. They've got an odds-to-probability thing which shows you the overround, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too when I'm splitting a race. Not all sunshine though. The layout is very functional, let's say — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it's fine although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me just flagging it. Right, that's me. Doesn't cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If you even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saved me a load of "wait, that's it?" moments.[/quote]
