Chapter 13

Controlling Windows and Applications from Scripts

Microsoft Windows Script Host (WSH) 2 offers some notable new features for controlling scripts, such as methods for delaying a script, simulating sending keystrokes to applications, and switching between applications. In this chapter, you'll learn how to use these methods to automate common tasks and to set up your environment during logon. This chapter will also show you how to add logon scripts in Microsoft Windows 2000, and we'll look at new Windows 2000 features for executing scripts during startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff.
