Dear visitor!
I am glad you've chosen my website. I truly hope my work and style draws your attention, and that I can pass my thoughts and emotions to you through my works.
My name is Ferenc Albert, I was born in 1958 in Tg.Mure? (Marosvásárhely). I live in Lunca Mure?ului (Székelykocsárd), Romania, where I had studied until the 6th grade. After this, until the 8th grade I was a student in Bethlen Gábor College, Aiud (Nagyenyed). I finished the Wood Technology Professional School in Tg.Mure? (Marosvásárhely), and then I continued my studies at the Folk Art School, at graphical-sculptural profile, where I was the disciple of the famous sculptor, Attila Dienes. I worked in the town until 1979, as a woodworker, wood carver, and prototype manufacturer. Between 1981 and 1984 I worked in Turda (Torda), also as a prototype manufacturer, where I had the chance to create alabaster decorative objects as well. In 1984 I started my own enterprise, where I could express my own ideas through the experience gained beforehand. Until now I have made many works of wood-carving, carpentering, wood-working, but also some carvings in stone and bone. Nowadays my attention is directed to wood-carving and toy manufacturing, but obviously this doesn't exclude any kind of other woodworking either.
My connection with wood formed as far as my early childhood, because my father was a renamed carpenter and woodworker, and I could get familiar with woodworking methods in his workshop. It's highly probable that my love for wood is also a genetic heritage, as on my paternal branch I represent the 5th generation of craftsmen working with wood.
Etnographer Zoltán Kallós is responsible for drawing my attention to the beauty of folk art. Writer and art critic József Gazda also fueled my curiosity for traditions, folk arts, and folk motifs.
I don't copy other people's work, if I can, I improvise, and let my imagination take the lead. Usually the greatest inspiration for me is music, paintings, and mostly nature. My favorite style is also what use in my works: Transylvanian secession.
For me wood represents real beauty, perfection; when it's in my hands, I feel devotion and gratitude. Then the will to create lights up in me and I feel the urge to bring back to life this cut-down tree, which is condemned to death.
Many ideas and plans got born in my mind, and I believe the Almighty gives me the force, health and patience to realize them. My purpose is that my works delight eyes and soul as well, and produce emotions, which - even if only a bit - change the world for the better.
