However, at mile 19 I started to get tingling in my fingertips and my vision went wonky. I came down from Northern New Mexico and most of my running of late has been when the temps were between 25 and 35. The conditions got me.
I still hit mile 20 on pace but things went south from there. I have never cramped in a marathon before but before the day was out I had experienced cramps in my calves, glutes, quads,
check wallet for men, and even my shoulders. When I went to take a bite of food after the race I got a cramp in my freaking jaw!
For the last few miles I would run between .1 and .5 miles before I would get a new cramp. Then try to walk it out,

My last half mile was my fastest at a 8:00 pace. But my final time was 4:08.  ,

The heat just got me. If I had been fitter I think I could have handled it. The last few miles I was drinking 3-4 cups of water every stop,

I have to agree the ice cold wash cloth at the end was heavenly.
I think I did the best I could given my fitness and the conditions,
