I would just travel around the coast That is the most beautiful part One year I cycled around half the coast hopping from hostel to hostel It took 3 weeks to cycle half way around so with a month will see plently
Alternatively you could just hit a selection of places like Dublin Galway Kerry Donegal Belfast and see what is in and around them With a month I would choose 4 places to hit

Is the 'ideas for a girls trip' a different question If so I recommend Thailand It is a peaceful place for women travellers It is the only country in the world where I have never experienced sexual harassment Also it is very inexpensive

For Ireland you are sure to have fun I was there a month and did the coast hitching all the way I felt safe the whole time and even stayed with the people who were picking me up some times But as for a girl I am not to sure how safe it is of course.
