Welcome to the homepage of Farkas Band! Our band comprises highly trained, professional performers with a multigenerational musician family background.
One may find traditional gypsy music, folk music, classical music, jazz, pop and international hits in our repertoire so as to please different kinds of audiences. We have had the opportunity to play in various countries of Western Europe, North-America and even in the Far-East or Australia.

Mr. Sándor Farkas
He was born in Budapest 10.27.1989. He appears to be an outstanding representative of the modern primás generation as well as a devotee of authentic and traditional performances of gypsy music. Despite of his young age, he keeps an extensive repetoire including folk songs, Hungarian songs (nóta) operettas, musicals, movie songs, jazz and evergreens. He is also on good terms with classical music. He was an eminent student of Bartók Béla Secondary School of Music. He often plays classical music to entertain his audience ie. the masterpieces of Bartók, Vivaldi, Tshaikowsky, Saint-Seans, Kodály Zoltán frequently occur in his concerts. His virtuoso and brillinat musical technique is always submitted to the authentic interpretation of the compositions carried out.
In his aesthetics he has a distinguished intentention to give priority to traditional rendering without being bombastic or renewing gypsy music in order to entertain his audience. In his techniques one may find elements used by the most prominent musicians. Currently, he is emloyed by Új-Színház both as a musician and an actor. His band and he have had several preformances in countries such as Germany, France, China, Japan etc.
