"I had to shoot second unit for this. I had Stan Kirsch and it was all part of Richie looking for his father. I was using a very long lens and we said, "Stan, go out there amongst them and start walking to camera. You're looking for your father." And he was walking along and I see him stop somebody and I have no idea what he's saying because we're pretty far away and there's motioning and the guy is pointing.
We get the shot and I said to Stan, "What did you say to that guy because it certainly looked like he was pointing in a specific direction?" And Stan said, "I asked him where I could find a McDonald's." We had fun doing that. Second unit is always fun because it's really gun and run. We'd go out with a very small crew and you'd go someplace and say, "ok, let's shoot here" and jump out of the van and start cranking away."
