PTR testing began on May 27 and will run through June 3, giving players a short window to experience and give feedback on this brutal new gauntlet. Blizzard hopes to use this feedback to refine the system before Season 9 officially launches.

This kind of content is exactly what Diablo 4 needed. After a lackluster reception to Season 8, players were clamoring for something more engaging and meaningful in the endgame. Escalation Nightmares might just be the answer.
