Season 8 changed things hard with Belial's ultimate hoard, and it pretty much killed the old "pray to RNG and hope" mindset. Why Betrayer's Husks Matter Now

The core system is dead simple on paper: you need two husks to crack open Belial's hoard, but the hard part is getting a reliable flow of them without burning out. Most players just rush Belial in the usual way and then wonder why they are stuck, but the real value is in his ambushes that trigger while you are clearing Greater Lair Bosses. If you are not at least on Torment 2, you are basically trolling yourself, because the ambush chance and drop rates below that just do not keep up with the time you sink in. On Torment 2 and higher, you are looking at roughly a tenth to a fifth of your runs turning into ambushes, and those can spit out 2 to 4 husks at once, which stacks fast when a group gets into a rhythm.

Efficient Farming Routes And Party Play

Once you start treating Greater Lairs like a quick rotation instead of a full clear, the whole thing feels more like a circuit than a grind. People often ignore Apparition Incursion events because the progress bars look slow and annoying, but in a full party they ramp up quick and spawn extra random bosses that can slot neatly between lair runs. That little bit of variety keeps you from zoning out, and it squeezes in more chances for side loot, gold and extra XP while you are really just chasing husks. If you can chain these together, hitting that 10 husks per hour mark is pretty realistic rather than some streamer fantasy, as long as everyone stays on task and does not stop to theorycraft in the middle of a run.

The Judgment Paladin Setup

You still need a build that lets you cruise through all this without sweating every pull, and that is where the Judgment Paladin comes in. As soon as you convert Holy Light Aura with the Dawnfire gloves, the whole kit flips and you are suddenly walking around stacking Judgment while passive AoE damage just melts the screen. It is not fully AFK, but it feels close on good gear, which is perfect for doing hundreds of lairs without your hands falling off. Pairing that with Griswold's Opus and the Seal of the Second Trumpet pushes your damage multipliers to a point where ambush waves stop being scary and start feeling like bonus chests. Stack Strength and flat Health on your gear so you can stand in the worst of it without chugging potions, and you will barely notice the spikes that used to one-shot you.

Turning Husks Into Targeted Loot

Where it all comes together is when you stop opening the hoard the second you can and start stockpiling husks for bigger sessions, because that is when you really feel the power of a curated loot pool like chasing a Godslayer Crown or a specific Ancestral roll instead of random junk. Plan a night with a group, line up a pile of husks, and treat Belial runs like opening a long row of locked chests, not a single high-stress boss kill, and you end up with a much cleaner set of upgrades to work on and fewer wasted hours wondering what you are doing wrong compared with people who have already leaned into the whole Diablo 4 iteams focused farming mindset.
