ABOUT US

17 years ago I bought my first Golden Retriever bitch, Zorka who was found luckily at the Eszli breeders couple. Without any expertise, I fell in love and chose the kindest, but slightly more slender puppy. Zorka's mother was an old-type working dog, his father was a show-line English dog, so Zorka became a typical “dual-dog”. She embodied everything that makes retrievers as hunting dogs popular: her calm temperament, love of people and tireless retrievering mood made her a wonderful companion. At that time in Hungary the breed started to become more popular, living with retrievers, hunting training, where was prominent Zorka's agility, enthusiasm compared with the show-line dogs. From Zorka's litter I kept my second dog, Kajsa, a wonderful, kind-hearted “dog-girl”, who was represented the show-line with good ability to work, but less endurance.
Since then a two-legged son of us extended my family, our activity with dogs pushed into the background for a while.
Unfortunately, both Zorka and Kajsa went to the eternal hunting grounds in relatively young age, 9 years old, so a few years I lived without a dog. Since then I believe together with many veterinarians, that spaying of bitches in 7-8 years of age is also recommended from health reasons. They both died of breast cancer, while their neutered siblings lived 15-16 years.
Because I bought my first dog Zorka from Laci Eszli, whose work in retriever domestic breeding, hunting dog training, organizing of competitions inspired me, I ask their help for choosing my next dog, Freya.
I surely knew that I would like a working-line dog, as there is more emphasis on keeping the breed's internal properties, these dogs are generally healthier and it was important to be effectively trainable, we can go to competitions especially in small game's picking up, because a golden retriever's and its master's relationship can really achieve its full potential in this common work.
Keeping a dog means for me that I provide complete life to my companion dog. Important to complete their potentials, working together, training, while my dogs are always family members also, who are with me in holidays and excursions, besides the common hobby.
