You can make yourself better by sending a message to your heart and brain, that no matter how much it might hurt, you are going to keep going.
Be around people you enjoy being with. You can lower your blood pressure and increase serotonin levels in the brain, by walking through a garden or a park, according to studies. This is the physical response that leads to you feeling emotionally better. There are lots of ways that you can spend each day, admiring the living things around you that are beautiful, even in art or architecture. You can always choose to raise your mood level by finding something to inspire you. Only you can choose what is beautiful to you. There are so many different things in this world, because we all like things differently. We all are individual, and we like different things.
Do not hide yourself away. When you are not feeling well, because you are lonely and depressed, you need someone in your life, who you can reach out to. Usually the worst thing you can do when you are struggling with a problem is to bury it, so find someone who is willing to just listen and let you talk. The last thing you want to do when struggling with your feelings is to bury them. Any time you need some help, or you are feeling down, don't hide yourself away. Unless you have been isolated for a long time, someone wants to help you. Many people never deal with their mental or emotional problems, because of their pride.
Helping yourself, both mentally and emotionally, will take a little work on your part. Getting better starts by wanting to get better, and then by following instructions given by mental health professionals or other advice you have researched, such as what you have read here.
