NukeSentinel™ User Guide - Version 2.2.2

About NukeSentinel™ ::  Installation ::  IP 2 Country Installation ::  File Edits ::  Main Menu ::  FAQ's

Image Definitions

NukeSentinel™ is the premier security enhancement for websites using the PHP-Nuke content management system. NukeSentinel™ does this by by monitoring and validating all database requests made through standard PHP-Nuke methods (that is, through the PHP-Nuke's mainfile.php functions).

NukeSentinel™ not only maintains database records of banned IP addresses (for blocking access to PHP-Nuke pages after an attack), but can also write that same IP information directly into Apache's .htaccess file.

If PHP-Nuke is installed at the root level of your server and if this feature is enabled in NukeSentinel™, the result will be that all blocked IP addresses will automatically be added to Apache's .htaccess file. At that point, Apache will then prevent any future attempts to access or attack ANY pages on your website by banning those IP addresses at the Server level.

This is a pre-emptive method of protection by keeping users out of your domain before they can get in and again, not only protects PHP-Nuke pages, but all pages beyond the root level of your domain!

NukeSentinel™ will not prevent attacks on other applications or modules that do not use standard PHP-Nuke methods for accessing the database.

Settings are configurable through the NukeSentinel™ icon NukeSentinel™ Administration Screen Icon   in your Admin Control Panel.
