Our project's
title is Virtual Study Trail. The general aim of our research project is
to extend knowledge of and draw attention to natural sciences. We would
like to explore our city's Arborétum especially the herbs which are
natural and have a healing power . By classifying the herbs native in
the Arboretum, we intend to obtain deeper and practical knowledge about
plant taxonmy.
This kind of interdisciplinary appoarch provides the opportunity to gain
and integrate extensive knowledge well beyond the general secondary
school curriculum.
We thought that creating a virtual study trail to introduce the area- on
multimedia device with internet access, simulanting a visior walking
along the trail would be an exciting new perspective.
We 've identified the herbs and made the descriptions. Photos have also
been taken. There are autumn pictures with bird songs or music, winter
pictures with music and summer pictures with bird songs. Spring pictures
have also been taken. While we were making our project, we used a
digital camera, and a voice recorder to take pictures and make the
recordings, and we edited the photos as well as some pictures from
reference books. The webpage has already been designed, the English
version has been made as well.
