Common Seabuckthorn - Hippophae rhamnoides

Healing effects:

The crop of the seabuckthorn is used by the healers of Tibet for more than thousand years.The experience of folkhealing and the publications let us know that the healing effects of seabuckthorn are the protection and boost of immune system,  fat solver effect, boost the metabolism, so it helps keeping the optimal with weight, have positive impact on stomach or intestinal ulcer, and it also protects the liver.

100 gramms of seabuckthorns contain about 450 milligrams of vitamin C, ten times more than an orange. With this high amount of C-vitamin the seabuckthorn is an ideal „winter drug” to avoid cold. Its value is increased by the beta-carotene, and vitamins E and F. New researches show the water-soluble yellow flavones, the valuable vegetable oils and fats, and the good effects of the high amount of calcium, magnesium and zinc which are contained by seabuckthorns.

Its cosmetic effects are also known : stops the hair loss and slows the formation of wrinkles, boosts the connective tissue, so it reduces the formation of cellulite, has positive impact on pigmentation proccesses, preserves tanned complexition in summer.

In the Chinese Dispensary (Pharmacopoeia) it can be found since 1977.

It was figured out in the Sovietunion, that the 5-hirdoxy-triptamyne (hippophane- from the name of the plant) stops the tumor growth. In the 1990’s, in China researches proved that the oil has the same effect on tumors.

The products are made of seabuckthorn have the following healing effects:

    • cervical and mucosal injury

    • burning

    • brewing injury

    • stomach ulcer

    • duodenal ulcer

    • blotches

    • skin ulcer caused by malnutrition

    • corneal injury

    • skin-grafting

    • high blood cholesterol levels
