according to students opinion is the Oxford of dairymen. All the
technical
experts who belong to the elites of large-scale dairy industry
graduated from
here.
Nowdays,
to help
our students to find employment more easily, they receive training for
the food
industry as well. To satisfy the demands of the modern food industry,
more
knowledge, responsibility and exemplary behaviour is required from both
teachers
and studens alike.
The constant effort to
satisfy these demands characterize the past and the present of our
school.

The
training of students
for the Hungarian dairy industry began in 1889 at a farm which had been
rented
from the Bavarian princely estate. In 1929 the school was transferred
to Csermajor
in the former Esterházy estate, and within the vicinity of
Vitnyéd. It has
carried out under the common direction its basic task: the theoretical
and
wide-ranging practical training of prospective experts of the dairy
industry.
From
1950s the
institute worked as an agricultural secondary grammar school and
technical
school of the diary industry. Experts of dairy industry, cheese and
butter production
graduated from the school.
Until 1968 only
intermediate level training was given in Csermajor for the dairy
industry. |
In
1989 we established
in addition the normal training - a five-year technical school for
regular
students.
In
1995 secondary
grammar school for skilled workers was introduced, where they could
take final
school leaving examinations.
From
1998 new
subjects, such as hospitality, advertising and marketing were taught.
Our schoolhas also gone on to
train managers for the food industr; students who have graduated from
our
school are sought after and welcomed by food factories everywhere. Some
of our
students are well-known directors and managers in the food industry. |
The
General
Assembly of Local Government approved the educational aims of our
school, where
the program has meant opening towards the training of experts at an
advance
level of vocational training.
As
our chemistry
and microbiology laboratories have excellent facilities we are planning
to
start the training of analysts and laboratory technicians.
Our students, after
graduating from the technical school or vocational school, can take
entrance
examinations to the College of Food industry at Budapest and at Szeged,
or to the
Agricultural College at Mosonmagyaróvár.
