Because of the geographical position of Mezőkövesd you can reach lots of beautiful places from here in half an hour.
National Park of Bükk is the Bükk Mountains in the North-Eastern part of Hungary. Its area is 43200 hectares today. The fresh air of Bükk Mountains, its rich world of animals and plants, natural formations offer a real experience for those who like nature, turists and cyclists. The southern border of the National Park is 15 km away from Mezőkövesd.

Eger is one of the most beautiful towns of Hungary. It lies between the mountains Mátra and Bükk in the valley of Eger brook, on a hilly country at the western foot of Bükk. The town is a recommended place to go for everyone, with its historical past, monuments, grandiose buildings, minaret, thermal bath, delicious dishes and wines. There are countless programs and festivals for the visitors and tourists every year.

Szilvásvárad is the western gate of Bükk National Park. It is a very popular place, it has plenty of beautiful sights. The most known of them is Szalajka Valley with the famous Veil waterfall, the Rider Museum showing the history of lipica hourse, the lipica stud-farm, the forest narrow-gauge railway and the forest museum.

It is the second biggest standing water of Hungary. It took its origine from the swelling of the river Tisza. It is situated in the middle of the Great Plain. It has an area of 120km˛ with islands, gulf and backwaters. It has a unique animal world, which is composed by fishes that like the fresh, silky water of the Tisza, small stock and birds that are all unique in Europe. It is the paradise of those who want to relax, fishermen and those who like water sports.

One of the most beatiful places of Bükk. With its varied, diverse offer, stalactite and limestone cave, the Hámori Lake, waterfall, the large building of the hotel, it has been a favourite place for trips for many years. The Szent István cave is in Lillafüred; it excels from other stalactite caves of Bükk in size and the abundance of its dripstones.
