Opening of the program:

Ø     the speech of Mr.Gábor Bíró: our headmaster greeted the guests, and talked about the American and Hungarian culture.

Ø     the speech of Michael Leroy McQuery: our guest-teacher from the USA created the great mood that was permanent all day.

Ø     the clarinet play of Bálint Barta and the saxophone play of Péter Barta: they fascinated the audience with their beautiful clarinet and saxophone playing.

The lecture of John Balian:

The Cultural Attasé from the US Embassy gave a lecture on the US Army.What made the lecture much more enjoyable  was that John Balian involved the audience and asked questions about the topic. What is more, those who could answer his questions, got presents from the Embassy.

In this workshop students could get more information about their possibilities in connection with USA. These possibilities are: internships, college or university applications, facultative programs. Moreover, CVs were also the parts of this workshop.

The life of an American college student:

Miss Joanne Oleksyk, an American student gave a presentation of her own life focusing on her college years. Also, she talked about the differences between the Hungarian and American educational system.

The fascinating New York City:

Living there, Yvonne Schuchmann knows a lot about New York City and in this workshop she shared these facts with the students. With the beautiful photos that she made herself, she could easily illustrate the fascinating New York City.

The lecture of Jeffry D Levine:

Jeffry D. Levine, the Deputy Chief of Mission from the Embassy of the United States of America, shared his experiences and thoughts with the students, teachers and the participants by giving a lecture.The title of his lecture was: ’Life in  America- what people don’t know, don’t know’.  He talked about the American culture and life, and also the differences between Hungary and America. The friendship of these two countries were also a topic.

The history of American dance:

In this program brave students could learn how to dance traditional American dances like country. With a lot of laughing and joy, they succeed. Moreover, a dance show and background information illustrated different types of dances.

The history of American music:

Our school’s rock band collected the most famous American songs from different periods and styles to perform them during a live concert. The band’s success was enormous.
