Move the workshop column

The porch columns are approx. They are 2 meters apart.
The workshop door, on the other hand, is 2.2 meters wide, so it would be quite difficult to set up e.g. with a larger car.

To move the column, the roof beam had to be supported first.

After the support, it can already be seen that the column has been raised and hanging in the air.

(How professionally the column was supported by some remaining beam ends...

This should not be done because it will soak up from below and rot well. That's why they usually make metal legs or brick plinths.)

There was also a groove on top of the beam, so I had to carve its place out of it too. With a hand chisel approx. It was 1.5 hours.

On the right is the original, on the left is the one I made. Compared to not being a carpenter, it hasn’t gotten that terrible.

I bought such an unbearably smelly and unreasonably thin bituminous material for the workshop floor, dipped the bottom of the beam in a bit.

I marked the location of the concrete under the column with a hanging tin. I used formwork stones for the formwork, but not in the usual way :).

Actually, the frame is made of Nikecell insulation residue and planks. The shutter stone only had to move because of its weight.

The tapping looks like this at the top of the beam. However, I carved the place much nicer ...

Aiming a carpenter's clamp with a 5 kilo hammer ...

After the concrete had set, (about 3-4 weeks) the concrete was also treated with bituminous nauseating odorous preservative.

I’ve used a few types before, but it’s by far the most disgusting material I’ve ever dealt with.

Of course, it has all sorts of signs, from carcinogens to environmental hazards ... I don't even understand why it can be marketed ...

Smooth bitumen is not so smelly and carcinogenic in my opinion ... Unfortunately, I bought 2 x 10Liters from it ...

Next time, I’ll stick with the other red box manufacturer and it’s not a place to advertise here, so I’m not going to write out what it’s all about.

His box can be seen from afar. Don't buy one who wants to live :). It really stinks awful.

Another picture that was taken before the workshop was concreted.
