Pay gap in sectors

In many well paid sectors we can observe a high wage difference on the account women, while in sectors characterized by the lowest net wages wage differences are lower than the national average. The highest net wage difference - 31% on the account of women – can be observed in real estate and business activities. This is the third best paying sector for men, but has only the seventh place in the rank of women’s net wages. The second biggest difference on the account of women – 26% can be found in the chemical industry. No wonder that in the rank of men’s net wages chemical industry is in the fifth place, in women’s wage rank it occupies only the tenth place. Men’s net wage is the highest in financial intermediation, and this sector occupies the third place in the rank of women’s wages. Nevertheless, the difference between men’s and women’s net wages is high in absolute value; the pay gap is 22%. This is the fourth highest pay gap on women’s account. Public administration is a characteristically feminine sector. Women’s net wages stand in the fourth place while that of men stand in the sevenths. The difference between them is only 9%; this occupies the 21st place image difference ranking. In textile and leather industry, the last in the ranking, the pay gap is lower than national average, only 15% on women’s account. Construction stands in the fifth place in women’s wage ranking, and in the 16th place in that of men. In this case, wage difference – 18% can be observed on men’s account. |
