Relation between pay gap and educational level
 |
Educational degree shows a positive effect on income both in men’s and women’s case. Differences between men’s and women’s net wages are the highest in the case of those with further education after obtaining high-school degree, those with a college degree (18%), a university degree (17%), and skilled workers (17%). Executive positions are generally linked to higher educational degrees, and, as we have already stated, in executive managerial positions with a higher income the rate of men is significantly higher than that of women – that is a degree in higher education helps rather men than women to get positions with higher incomes. In degrees higher than a university degree this effect is not working unequivocally, although certain differences can be established between wages of men and women. Although it is worth learning for both men and women, this stands for men even more than for women. If we take the wage of those with an elementary degree for 100, the net wage of women with a university degree is 243, while that of men is 263, and in all other categories the net increment of men’s net wage exceeds that of women. |
