Richard
Stephen Sambora was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey in July 11,
1959. He always wanted to be a musician: he had learnt to play the
saxophone, the piano and the trumpet, and after he had listened to Eric
Clapton's music, he decided to learn to play the guitar. As a teenager,
he used to play in various local bands.
He first met
John Bongiovi in 1983, who was doing some promotion for his song
"Runaway". Richie, after a few rehearsals, joined him and Bon
Jovi was formed. Since then, he's been the guitarist of the band a
co-writer to most songs.
In 1991 he had
been dating with Cher for a while.
His first solo
album, "Stranger In This Town" was released in 1991. He put a lot
of work in the album.
Richie met
actress Heather Locklear in 1994. They married at the end of the
year.
He released an
CD-ROM in 1996, "Richie Sambora Interactive Guitar" to help
people learn to play the guitar.
His daughter,
Ava Elizabeth was born in 1997.
With his
second solo album, "Undiscovered Soul", which was released in
1998, Richie achieved success both in the American and the global music
market. |
