Villafranca Montes de Oca (y Zalduendo, Burgos, Catilla y León, Spain) -2009

My wife and I spent about a week at Villafranca taking part in the regular summer festivities (fiestas) of the village. I've been asked to entertain the kids; well, we had a TALLER DE COMETAS (kite workshop). Later we visited other places not so far away (e.g. Zalduendo is a couple of kms away and has quite a largefield, as large as five soccer fields appropriate for buggy kiting. We Flew our "EL MOCO"

Have a look:

The day they were supposed to take Nuestra Señora de Oca to local hermitage and then to the Pozo de San Indalecio (fountain of St. Indalecio) the weather was awful so there was no procession an the young of the village could not perform their traditional dance along the route, they daced in a huge tent instead.

By the way, Villafranca Montes de Oca is on the route of "EL CAMINO"
